Weekend Round-Up

I had a pretty good weekend.  Time spent with old friends and current ones.  Memories and stories shared.  Hugs given and received. Love you Kimber!

Birthdays celebrated.  Laughter shared.

And then there was CHOCOLATE!

My BFF, Janet and I got together Saturday evening.  She'd had minor surgery this week and I thought she needed some girl time, with chocolate and alcohol, to make her all better.  We had a good time!

Cherry Coke and Caramel Apples were enjoyed

These pretzels were turned into yummy creations

We decorated the pretzels with Rolos.  Warmed them a bit

And topped them with M&M's!  So yummy!  Of course, we enjoyed cocktails and girl talk while we worked.
But we still had pretzels left over so we hit her Velata stash....

A little Milk Chocolate, Dark Chocolate and Caramel Milk Chocolate.  Again, warm a bit....

Top with Reese's Pieces.  Oh yeah!  YUM!
Silly movies and puppies made for a perfect ending of the night.
Thanks, Janet!

Velata Recipes

As I mentioned before I am a chocoholic.  So when the Scentsy Family came up with the idea of Chocolate Fondue Warmers that were easy to set up and clean up, I jumped on board!  Well, Velata has been around for over a year and there is a new catalog and NEW products!

I know not everyone is into Chocolate the way I am and knowing that, Velata is not offering CHEESE!  Yes, I said it, CHEESE!  It comes in four flavors: creamy cheddar, rich bacon cheddar, bold fiesta queso, and sophisticated smoked gouda.

New Cheeses and New Warmers

Now for my die hard chocolate lovers, Velata has a way to spruce up your chocolate experience too!  Mixables come in 4 flavors for a fusion of palate pleasing flavors.  Just mix your choice of Raspberry, peppermint, orange or mocha into your choice of Velata chocolate and enjoy!   Each one comes with 3 mixable packets.

Now, Velata isn't just for dipping.  There are SO many ways you can incorporate Velata Chocolate into a recipe.  This weekend, I made Cheesecake stuffed Strawberries.  Super Yummy!  Or at least that's what I was told by AZ and JR.  The Strawberries disappeared before I got a chance to sample them.

My Creation

Here's the recipe.  Its' Easy Peasy and takes NO time at all to put together.

1 pint fresh strawberries
1 (8 oz) package of cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 graham crackers, finely crumbled

1 pouch Dark Velata Chocolate

Melt and warm Dark Chocolate per pouch instructions and put into Velata warmer

Rinse and dry strawberries. Using a paring knife, cut a small amount off the bottoms of the strawberries so they stand upright.  Remove the stems and hollow out the centers.

In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar and vanilla until smooth and creamy.

Spoon mixture into a zip-close bag.  Snip off a small hole in one corner.  Pipe cheesecake mixture into each strawberry, filling completely.

Dip filled side in graham cracker crumbs.  Using a spoon, drizzle on warmed Dark Chocolate.

Refrigerate until serving (no more than 2-4 hours.)

Let me tell you, they won't stay around  for long!

Velata Fun

I'm a Chocoholic. I admit it.  If there is a support group, please do NOT direct me.  I don't want help for my addiction.

I do LOVE that Velata has helped out my addiction with their Fondue Warmers.  I have three that we use regularly.  A Blue Razz, a Maraschino cherry, and a black liquorish.

Blue Razz
Looks like fun just sitting there!
They are so easy to set up.  Just plug it in and turn it on!  To get the chocolate started, you just have to put the bag into the microwave for a minute or so, then pour the chocolate into the fondue dish.  I've been known to suck the remaining chocolate out of the bag.  There's no sense in wasting chocolate.

The Chocolate Packets
And the clean up is just as easy as the set up.  When you're done dipping, just toss the dish into the dishwasher.  It can't get any easier!

There are also dishes to go with the warmers.  You can display your dipping food all around the warmer.

Velata Dishes
This weekend, I made lots of cute dipping things. I got the ideas from Velata's website and Pinterest Pages.  The first one, Peanut Butter Pretzels were SO yummy!  AZ was my taster and he said he could eat them like chips and dip.  I had to hide the ones that I was making for work so he wouldn't eat them all!

Before their swim in chocolate!

If you want the recipe, let me know!  I'll email it right over.
If you want a Velata warmer and chocolate, email me and I'll get you set up!

After their swim in the chocolate.
Some dove all the way in, while the others were more cautious and just waded in halfway
I also took the white chocolate, melted it and colored it orange.  I dipped the pretzels in and topped them off with a green M&M.

How cute are they?
And SO easy to make with the Velata Chocolate and Warmer

Now, I know I've talked ya'll into getting a Velata Warmer and chocolate.  Remember, all the wonderful holiday parties you are planning and you know this will be a wonderful addition to your spread.  Plug it in, warm up the chocolate and lay out some fruits and other dipping stuff.  Easy set up, easy clean up.
