CHOP otherwise known as Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia

A couple of weeks ago our Autism Center sent information about a website called Autism Match, which is run by the Center for Autism Research (CAR) which is affiliated with CHOP.  At this website, you fill out several questionaaires and they will match you up with any research studies in the area.  It sounded interesting so I registered us.

This week I received an email from Autism Match with information about a study on Brain Imaging, Behavioral and Genetic Study of ASD.  It said if I am interested in more info to email them back.  The next day, I got a phone call and they had a TON of questions for us.  After spending 45 minutes answering yes or no, I am now waiting for them to call back and make an appointment for us to go there.

All expenses for the study will be paid by the study, Son will get another behavioral evaulation (always good to get a second opinion!), as well as get to play in an MRI machine just like the Mythbusters did, as well as giving a little blood to help figure out this mysterious disease that affects so many of our children.

The only thing that could keep us out of the study is when Son gets his braces as he can't be in the MRI with the metal mouth.  I am excited to see what they have to say about him.

More to come!
