Disconnect Day

Have you ever felt like you just wanted to hide from the world?  Yesterday was that kinda day for me.  So, I turned off the computer (mostly!), ignored the phone and set the cell to vibrate.  I just sat and tried to read but mostly stared blankly at the TV.

I also did laundry and scrubbed my kitchen floor.  But now that all my housework for the weekend is done, I won't have anything to do on the weekend.  Won't even have Son.  And with the snow storm bearing down on us AGAIN, it looks like it will be a short school/work week.

Schools here were closed yesterday, don't ask me why because I saw no reason for it. Even MY little dead end road was cleared so there is no reason the rest of the roads shouldn't have been clear.  But Son was very productive.  He completed a lot of homework that he had been hiding from me as well as a lot of research on a project that is due 2-26.

Well, time to get the day started.  Need my breakfast, need to get Son motivated, need to answer about 25 text messages on the cell (I think 6 are from Denise!  Love you!).

Have a great day and for those in the path of the snow storm, be safe!

  1. Im sure there are at LEAST 6 from me....you worried me when you wouldnt answer. Love you too!!!

  2. I'm having one of those days too! I have tonsillitis and just want to sit quiet and do nothing at all.
I feel to ill to get interested in anything, and what is worse is, you know when you are ill, you get these weird dreams when you fall asleep!
A friend of mine was just the same, and she was dreaming that Tony Soprano was her Father!
It's cold and snowing, and I just feel yuk! So I am just hanging a "Do Not Disturb" sign on my door, and trying to sleep this thing off!

  3. disconnecting today and probably tomorrow...more snow and ice and no net at the house...so maybe a break is what i needed.

  4. I went through a period around Christmas where I disconnected many times. Now I try to do it at least one day during the weekend. I don't always want to but I think it brings balance to my life.

  5. I need a day to disconnect too but since we are moving in 5 weeks I really don't have the time to take a whole day off like you did. I envy you. Maybe I will take a few hours off, yeah that is what I will do and I will do it right now and go to bet for a nice rest and hope to even nap.
I can't believe son hid that homework from you. Wow he is a clever little dude. I guess all kids find a way somehow huh?

I am glad that you had a day to rest and rejuvinate from the world. Kudo's!!! Love ya,

  6. Bread and milk, stock up on bread and milk. I hear that's what you need in a snow storm. Guess I'm screwed - I bought cookies and juice :)

  7. I have disconnected days. Hope you are back in the grove soon. It's hard to catch up if you fall too far behind.
