Online Dating

I am lonely.  I am getting used to living alone again.  There are good and bad things to living alone.  I'm the only one to pick up after, unless you count the animals toys.  I can walk around naked if I want, as long as the windows are covered. I  don't have to worry about the toilet seat being left up, its just me after all. There is no one to argue with me that they don't like asparagus for dinner.

There are bad things about living alone.  Its quiet, unless the TV or radio is on. Very quiet.  There is no one to have a conversation with, no one to complain that my job is the most boring thing on the planet right now.  There is no one to argue with me over asparagus with dinner.

So I thought I'd put myself out there on a dating site.  It was an adventure.  Too funny.  There were lots of hits, I did have a good profile picture.  There was the guy who messaged me several times, getting to know each other, finally sharing our personal email addresses and full names, only to never be heard from again.  hmmmm makes me wonder what the internet has out there on me!  Maybe I'll google myself for fun.

Then there was the guy who immediately asked for my phone number because he didn't want to use the site.  Ok.  Let's be adventurous and give him a throw-away Google Voice number.  It'll be harder for him to stalk me if things go south.  So we start texting.  At the third text, he's asking me how long its been since I've.... you know.... ummm....well.... you get the picture.  BUT he insisted that he was looking for something long term, eventually.  He wanted to take the time to get to know me.  Then he suggested we meet THAT day for a RedBox movie and either of our homes.  Yeah, you're looking for a long term booty call.....  So I called him on that and never heard from him again.

At least I can have a laugh at them and still have hope that my prince is out there.  I'm taking a break from the dating site for now but I'm sure I will go back to it one day.  I will definitely share my adventures.

Adjustments

With the move I think Jaxon has had to make the biggest adjustment.  He doesn't have a lap to sit on all day long.  He doesn't get to go out and chase the ball several times a day.  BUT even with all the things that are changing for him, he is still the best doggie ever.

He doesn't like mornings

The first week or so, I walked him on a leash. I wanted him to know where his boundaries were and we are now living on a very busy road.  Can't have him dashing out into traffic.  He graduated to walking with me carrying the leash.  Now I can put him out for potty without even leaving my deck and he doesn't wander too far.

I've been going home at lunchtime to walk him until he gets used to being left alone during the day.  I hate to leave him for so long but it can't be helped.  Also with going home at lunchtime, I can throw the ball for him.  And he LOVES to chase it.

Jaxon does love it when Jakes comes home.
As far as adjusting to the new place, he was afraid of the boxes in the kitchen but they are gone now.  He is still figuring out how to chase the ball in the house.  There a no long hallways but lots of little places a ball can hide.  He loves trying to dig it out of the corner, its in his breed to dig.

As the weather improves and there is more daylight after work, Jaxon will get more exercise and loving.  With all that has happened in the past month, the fact that he hasn't used the house as a bathroom or chewed up the furniture makes me proud of him for his ability to be flexible.

I love my Jaxon!

Adventures

Jakes and I have been taking some adventures around the area, with cameras.  A couple of Sundays ago, we went to the top of a lighthouse in the township.  I've lived here all my life and have never been up to the top of it.

It was a LONG climb up in circles

The weather was warm and the sun was shining.  I had one camera and Jakes had the other.  I had the long lens and he had one that was auto-focus.  We both ended up with some fabulous shots!

Camera Wars

He got me!

The view from the top was fabulous!  I was able to take 7 different photographs and then I stitched them together in one big panoramic photo.

Looking across the river to Delaware
See!  We are CLOSE!

Going Down....

Jakes learned some tips from me and the guide who was at the top of the lighthouse.  He's going to be a very good photographer.  He keeps bugging me to give him one of the cameras.  Not yet!

In the back is the bridge to Delaware.
The view was fabulous!

Here's my Panoramic Picture.  I'm going to get it printed professionally, framed and hang it in my living room.  I LOVE what I was able to do with it.  I hope you're able to see it from here.
